We are now taking submissions for COMEDY UNDERGROUND, an unofficial comedy festival taking place during SXSW.

Just choose which category your act fits into and fill out the form! In order to keep this show free for all who attend and make it as badass as we possibly can we have instituted a submission fee this year. The early bird submission price ended on January 31 and is now $25 until submissions end on February 10 — so submit now!

WE ARE TAKING A BREAK THIS SXSW DUE TO OTHER PROJECTS BUT LOOK FORWARD TO POTENTIALLY PICKING UP AGAIN IN THE FUTURE!

COMEDY UNDERGROUND?

Comedy Underground is a showcase event that promotes collaboration between the local performance scene and businesses in the Austin community, to help bridge the gap between the two circles. Put on by The New Movement in conjunction with a variety of local sponsors including past collaborators Hops & Grain Brewery , Pop Press International, and CoolinAustin, Dos Mundos Creative to mention a few, Comedy Underground features a combination of some of the best Stand-Up, Sketch and Improv that Austin has to offer at our convenient downtown location!

Comedy Underground is part of the amazing humor network NOW KNOWN AS FALLOUT THEATER.

ABOUT TNM:

The New Movement community is a team of creative individuals dedicated to providing a unique approach to comedy that can’t be found anywhere else. They hold a variety of improv, standup and sketch comedy shows. With performances and classes in both Austin and New Orleans, TNM has been leading the improv movement in the south since 2009. They also teach sketch comedy, comedy writing, and soon, video classes. The full-time comedy conservatory has several successful festivals under its belt including Hell Yes Fest, Improv Wins, and Megaphone Marathons. While the TNM team is based in the south, it maintains a national presence through their website, tours and festival appearances.
